The Carriage House Inn Bed and Breakfast specializes in small intimate weddings, elopement ceremonies, and renewal of vows. We want the celebration of your union to provide you with a lifetime of cherished memories.

A wedding is more than a union between two people; it's the festive joining of two families. And we, The Carriage House Inn Bed and Breakfast, strive to provide an elegant background for you to celebrate your special moments while making it as joyful and stress free as possible for all the participants.

To that extent we will work with you or your wedding planner to provide you the ceremony you want. Any of our packages can be customized so just let us know what you would like and we will try to make it happen. Below we have created some basic priced fixedwedding packages for you to choose from.The fixed pricesdo not include applicable taxes. We recognize that one size doesn't fit all so feel free to add additional servicesand build the wedding you want. We have an extensive list of vendors that are willing to provide you with all the bells and whistles so just let us know what you want. If your package includes a room in the main house, you can upgrade to a room in the carriage house for an additional $50.00. If you need additional rooms for guests let us know when booking your wedding so we can reserve them for you.

At The Carriage House Inn Bed and Breakfast we offer a number of venues for your special day. Our huge wrap around porch offers a great place for an outdoor wedding, especially during inclement weather. Our parlor is the ideal placewhen you are looking for an intimate venue in a historic mansion. The Carriage House, circa 1910, is a great place for a more formal wedding with up to 30 guests. Due to zoning restrictions we must limit indoor weddings to about 30guests.

The Engagement Package

$549 weekdays
$599 weekends

Before she says I do, she first needs to say I will. Spend a romantic evening with us and enjoy a bottle of chilled champagne or cider upon arrival, dine in one of our wonderful downtown restaurants ($75.00 dining certificate), return to your room with silk rose petals on your bed, feast on our legendary breakfast the following morning and be indulged a Swedish massage in our on-site massagestudio and when the moment is right, ask her to marry you.

The Elopement Package

WeddingforTwo

Our"Wedding for Two" package can be a formal ceremony or a informal ceremony. If you are looking for something simple without guests this option is ideal. Just pick the venue and let us know what you want and we will make it happen.

This package includes:

for ceremonyand photos

Weddingfor a Few -- up to 10 guests

$699.00 weekdays
$749.00 weekends

Our"Wedding for a Few" package, like the"Wedding for Two" can be formal or informal. We limit the guest list toten excluding the bride and groom. This is the ideal package when you want to share the experience with a few close friends and family members. The celebration can be held in the main house, front porch, grounds or in The Carriage House Meeting and Event Center in the carriage house. Additional guests over ten (including children) add $12.50 per person.

.8 inch wedding cake

Weddingfor a Few More -- up to 30 guests

If your guest list is up to 30 then this package is for you. The celebration will be held on the grounds, patio with fish pond, front porch or in The Meeting and Event Center in our carriage house. This package includes:

. One night in one of our guest rooms in the main house
. Use of front porch, the grounds, patioor the Carriage House for 1 1/2 hours
. Champagne or cider toast
. 8 inch tiered wedding cake
. Wedding nosegay and boutonniere
. Need a wedding celebrant, add $50.00

Renewal of Vows

We recognize that with marriage comes responsibilities and sometimes children. These obligations may not allow you to spend too much time from home so this package can be priced with or without a guest room for an overnight stay. If you will be able to stay with usovernight we offer to those who were married at The Carriage House Inn Bed and Breakfast a 20% discount off our published room rate with a minimumstay of two nights.

Prices for this package will vary depending on the extent of the re-commitment celebration you wish to have and can be priced for the two of you or up to 30 guests. Let us know what you are looking for and we will recreate that magical day for you.

Anniversary Specials

Come to The Carriage House Inn Bed and Breakfast to relax, renew and rejuvenate for your anniversary. If you were married at the Carriage House Inn Bed and Breakfast we offer a 20% discount off our published room rates, minimum stay of two nights. You will also receive a bottle of chilled champagne to help you celebrate.

Now the Legal Stuff . . . .


You MUST provide a VALID Virginia Marriage License before you can be married.

A marriage license can be obtained at any Virginia courthouse (circuit court). BOTH OF YOU MUST APPLY IN PERSON FOR THE LICENSE TOGETHER. A valid ID is needed, including a picture, current address and date of birth. You must be at least 18 years old. The license does not have to come from the same city or county in which your wedding will take place.

No blood test, waiting time or residency requirements are required (It is not necessary to be a Virginia resident or a US Citizen to get a marriage license in Virginia.) Once you have your license you can marry immediately! You do have to "use" your marriage license (get married) within 60 days or the license will expire.

You can obtain your license at the clerk's office in the circuit court. The hours for obtaining a marriage license are Monday through Friday from 9a.m. to 4:30p.m. (except Holidays) for $30 CASH. It is suggested however, that you call the clerk's office where you plan to get your license to confirm their hours.

Copies of marriage certificates for proof of marriage are available from the clerk's office after the original license is returned by the marriage celebrant. Provide name of groom, maiden name of bride, date of marriage and $3.00 cash or money-order for each certified copy and a stamped, self-addressed envelope if mailing.

There have been instances where couples have waited till the last minute to get their license only to find the clerk's office closed. If you do not have your license, you cannot be married.
